This site gives a good overview of types of erosion and may be a place to start: https://www.soils4teachers.org/erosion

Regarding types of soil, here's a handy guide for identifying soil types (this one is Louisiana specific but could adapt to other Gulf Coast areas): https://www.lsuagcenter.com/NR/rdonlyres/B8103A56-3895-487E-9887-DC1C4B6C6FFD/49277/B889SoilClassificationHIGHRES.pdf

Hi!! Here are a few resources you could check out:

Also a short list here: http://mississippiriverdelta.org/our-coastal-crisis/land-loss/

There's also a pretty good book about it here called "Bayou Farewell: The Rich Life and Tragic Death of Louisiana's Cajun Coast" by Mike Tidwell . It's a bit dated now, but a lot of the concepts remain the same.

@coastalconstructioncrew504 @amallozzi - also would recommend this free database for soil types https://casoilresource.lawr.ucdavis.edu/gmap/
