This CFL works the best

dhaffnersr was awarded the Basic Barnstar by Matej for their work in this research note.

After a thousand spectral tests, I have found one CFL that I have gotten a quality calibration fit of 4 with, below is a picture of two I have tested and the one that lost an the winner!

Also I just want to point out that you will notice I have my CFL pointed at about a 45 degree angle this is the perfect angle for this type of CFL that I have found.

I hope this helps

Great note. Could you explain a little more why are these two (or just one) CFLs the best? Also, why the 45 angle?

I too would be curious to know what criteria you used for selecting the winning CFL bulb. Perhaps you could expand this note by adding some spectra from each of the bulbs and a discussion of the evidence that has led you to conclude that the 2700K bulb yields superior data?

Above you can see both blue bands of the CFL daylight and non-daylight bulbs.

Above are the green bands of both the daylight and non-daylight bulbs.

Below are the SNR's (signal to noise ratio of the two differing slit widths

So my conclusions are based on the difference between a 6700k bulb and a 2700k one.

@stoft posted this note the day after @dhaffnersr, looking into some of these issues too. Just wanted to link them together!
