Introductions all around

In class activity A: whole class conversation (5 minutes)

  • what are different ways you can convey data?
  • how do you use a "boring" number to convince someone about something?
  • (Mr. Dan) show examples of graphs, maps, etc.

In class activity B: MIT students show examples of what they might build (10 minutes)

  • Cypress Hills students open a laptop in each group
  • CH students follow links to see project examples that MIT students present

In class activity C: reaching out to the community

  • CH students in groups with big chart paper
    • who should we tell this to?
    • what we're saying?
    • why we're saying it?
    • how will we say it?
    • where will we say this?
  • Group presentations (5-10 minutes)

Learning Outcomes * eggs collect data * data is on COSM as line graphs * once we have cool maps, we can use them for advocacy (a future conversation)
