Biodiversity is important to our survival as a species! Today we learned about biodiversity, its meaning, importance, and impact on our environment. The term "Biodiversity" is really a compound of two words: "bio" referring to life or living things, and "diverse" meaning variety. Hence biodiversity refers to the variety of living organisms in an environment. Biodiversity also speaks to the size of each species' population. Thus, an environment with a variety of species that can boast of large populations of that species would represent a healthy environment that is diverse! Biodiversity also reflects the impact living organisms have on each other as they are all interdependent.

The lesson went on to feature a documentary that reflected the diminishing "Blue Fin" Tuna population that has decreased by 95%. Couple this fact with the Blue Fin tuna being the fish that is the most popularly demanded fish for human consumption and bang! Humankind has almost fished, exported, imported, and consumed this species to extinction. What would happen to the diversity of our oceans if there were no more Blue-Fin Tuna? Thanks to agencies like Public Lab everyone can be made aware of this change and its impact on our changing environment.

Biodiversity is important on planet Earth because every species relies on each other and is interdependent, including us. We rely on thousands of species regularly for food, air, clothes, and anything made from plant or animal product. An ecosystem is constantly in a delicate balance, and one species going extinct can throw the balance off, potentially severely.

Bluefin tuna is very expensive, and is the primary tuna that humans consume. However, recently, its population has dropped 95%.

Biodiversity is important because its plays a lot of roles in today life. Bio means life and diversity means a variety. Biodiversity includes plants, microorganisms, animals, humans and so much more. Biodiversity is the different kinds of organisms you'll find in one area which includes plants, animals, humans, fungi. An ecosystem consists of organisms in a certain area.

Biodiversity is important because it protect us. It makes the earth possible to live on. It gives the world more diversity. It also allows us to relies on each other for things we need. The most desired tuna for human consumption is the blue fin tuna. The blue fin tuna has dropped 95% in the Pacific.

Biodiversity is important because it supports all life on earth including us humans. As humans we are consumers, we cannot make our own food so we must eat producers or we must eat the other consumers such as animals to get energy. Without biodiversity we would die. Additionally, ecosystems perform essential functions like pollination, seed distribution, climate regulation, water purification, nutrient cycling, and insect control in agriculture.

The diversity or number of organisms in an ecosystem is called biodiversity. It's crucial to our survival. The more biodiversity, the more stable an ecosystem’s structure is. The different types of biodiversity are gene diversity, species diversity, and ecosystem diversity. Biodiversity keeps interdependent organisms alive, as well as whole ecosystems. Blue fin tuna is the most desired species of tuna consumed by humans. Their population has decreased by 95%.

The diversity of life in an ecosystem is called biodiversity. The more diversity in an ecosystem, the more stable its structure is. Biodiversity helps keep interdependent organisms and whole ecosystems alive. Bluefin tuna is the most popular type of tuna eaten by humans. Their population has decreased by a 95%. If bluefin tuna were to go extinct, it is likely that these sea creatures would quickly become overpopulated. This would cause a sort of domino effect as the increase in numbers of these animals would lead to a decrease in the populations of their prey. This is why biodiversity is important.

Different types of plants and animals millions of different species all living together in an environment in something we call an ecosystem. For an ecosystem to be successful for it to be healthy it must have different kinds of plants now lots of different kinds of plants and animals something we call biodiversity. Environments always have living parts and non-living parts some animals live on top of plants some animals live in the water some plants grow on rocks it's all part of the ecosystem. The more biodiversity the more secure life is. An ecosystem is a biological community of interacting organisms and their physical environment including abiotic and biotic factors that contribute to the environment. Biotic factors can be classified as producers, consumers, and decomposers. All these biotic components are interdependent. Producers are the most basic components of an ecosystem. Producers, such as plants or algae, are those organisms that can capture the solar energy and convert it into chemical energy. Organisms that depend on plants and other organisms for their food are consumers. Consumers lack the ability to capture solar energy and hence depend on producers for their food. Terrestrial consumers are tigers, rabbit, and so on. Organisms such as insects, fungi (including molds), and bacteria feed on the dead bodies of other organisms. They convert the organic material from dead producers and consumers into simpler organic compounds, nutrients and gases. There are three main types of biodiversity. Species Diversity when you examine an ecosystem for species diversity, you are looking for two specific things species richness and evenness of species abundance. Genetic diversity is the variation of those characteristics within each population of the same species. Ecosystem diversity concerns the variability of ecosystems within a given location. Recently due to human activities the biodiversity is starting to make huge decreases in animal populations. For example, bluefin tuna is usually served in top-notch sushi restaurants because it is, quite simply, the most delicious tuna available in the world though 95% of the blue fin tuna population has been gone from the ocean since its the most desired tuna for human consumption.

Biodiversity plays a crucial role in the well being of an ecosystem that exist in planet Earth. The more diverse a ecosystem is, the more healthier and successful it is. Organisms are interdependent to each other in a ecosystem so if one type of species get extinct or endangered it can lower the population of other species or extinction. We humans rely on biodiversity of our ecosystem to feed us with the resources we need. For example the blue fin tuna population has decreased 95% due to its high demand. The tuna cannot reproduce fast enough from humans overfishing so they are now considered a endangered species with a high market value. Constant release of greenhouse gas, pollution, contamination, deforestation, overfishing and so forth has caused to decrease our planets biodiversity hence adversely affecting us and other species. We humans have to learn how preserve biodiversity so that we can enjoy the fruits of nature provide us.

Biodiversity refers to the variety of life on the planet earth. It gives us resources that helps animals, plants, humans, and other organisms to survive. In this case, our survival is being limited because of interference with the food web. Us humans are destroying the food web by overfishing and contaminating the waters and ecosystems with our chemicals, that are destroying our food source and home. Biodiversity has genes that makes up the building blocks of life to the diverse ecosystems. Each living organisms depends on another living organism for survival and if the dependent is gone it destroys the set up.

Biodiversity is important because it is essential for the processes that support all life on Earth, including humans. I say biodiversity is important because Biodiversity ensures health and food security. Biodiversity underpins global nutrition and food security; Biodiversity helps fight disease. Higher rates of biodiversity have been linked to an increase in human health. Biodiversity benefits business. Biodiversity provides livelihoods. Biodiversity protects us. Biodiversity deals with plants and animals. Biodiversity- The more diverse, the more populated the species are... Meaning that there are more. Biodiverse is dropping everywhere.

Bluefin tuna has been the most desired for human consumption. The bluefin tuna is part of the aquatic biome. Due to it being one of the most desired fish it is at risk. The bluefin tuna population has reduced by 95%. Simply us consuming too much of it gives the food chain a chance to self-destruct. Biodiversity is a variety in the same natural habitat and ecosystem. It is a measure of variation at the genetic, species, and ecosystem level. So, when a species population reduces it puts all the other animals in that habitat or biome at risk of reducing as well. That is why biodiversity is very important. It’s connection to the food chain provides sustained life support for all biotic organisms through overall genetic diversity and food security. We can protect biodiversity by decreasing the waste for consumers goods and making sure the products we buy minimize biodiversity.

Biodiversity is important because it supports our ecosystem and provides the food for us. With an unstable biodiversity, that means unstable ecosystem, meaning unstable resources. There are 95% fewer blue fin tuna in the Pacific. We are all connected. Human interactions can interfere with species such as taking, eating the blue fin tuna. This species is near extinct, what would happen to the biodiversity then? Biodiversity begins to decrease. Biodiversity decreasing can result in "human well-being by affecting soil and water, which are fundamental to food production".

Biodiversity is important due to every species somewhat relying on one another as interdependent, not limited to them, but also us. Millions of species provide food for us, or things like clothing, such as hemp, and sheep. Though the removal of one or three species, depending on what they are, they can alter the ecosystem heavily. An example of biodiversity could be the introduction of the plant known as hemp, producing clothes for us to be able to wear.

Biodiversity refers to the variety organisms of Earth. Biodiversity also includes the evolutionary process and adaptation of changing environments of species. Blue fin tuna is the most desired tuna for human consumption consequently there are 95% fewer blue fin tuna in the Pacific. The blue fin tuna is an endangered species of tuna. The tuna is scare in species richness and species abundance because of the excessive hunting of this animal. The genetic diversity of the tuna, specifically the breeding trait, isn't enough to replenish its population at the rate it's being hunted. The blue tuna is an aquatic animal, so it is confined to the saltwater subsection of the hydrosphere - lacking ecosystem diversity. The diversity of our oceans would become unstable then must adapt to the change if there were no more Blue-Fin tuna. The predators of the blue fin tuna world must find a new prey but will also have a decrease in its population. There would also be, and abundance is the prey of the blue fin tuna. If safety precautions are not put in place the blue fin tuna will go extinct. *GIANNA WILLIAMS*

Biodiversity is important b/c, due to the fact that it provides functioning ecosystems that supply oxygen, clean air & water, pollination of plants, pest control, wastewater treatment & many ecosystems' services. Biodiversity provides the food we eat. Biodiversity keeps us healthy. Biodiversity supports our ecosystem. Biodiversity helps our economy thrive to be successful. Biodiversity can also lastly, potentially provide A solution to Climate Change.

Biodiversity is important because it is essential for the processes that support all life on Earth, including humans. Biodiversity also includes the evolutionary process and adaptation of changing environments of species. The more diversity the stronger and more successful an ecosystem is. but sometimes we are the reason that some are not successful like the blue fish tuna. The population went down by 95%.
