mapknitter nice, good index, but we'd like to start archiving some maps ...

• new maps will have a checkbox, checked by default, saying "I release this map under a CC-BY license"
• emailing everyone that has a map up to agree

Recently we picked a finished map on mapknitter.org and contacted the map maker, Chris Fastie. Chris used MapKnitter to make several nice maps of the Otter View Park area in Middlebury, Vermont. The title, date, and background information that Chris authored at mapknotter.org were brought in to populate the new map details pages: http://publiclaboratory.org/map/otter-view-park-middlebury-vermont/2011-10-28 http://publiclaboratory.org/map/otter-view-park-west-middlebury-vermont/2011-10-28 Additionally, the maps are public domain and now available to geospatial publishers.
