How can I test the environment for damage from bad air quality in the New Orleans area? What materials should I use to conduct this experiment?

Here's some materials from the New Orleans Health Department:

Here's some background for why Louisiana doesn't use air quality data: More air monitoring at Louisiana industrial plants? Here's how the Senate committee voted Second 'right to know' bill would create public notification system for fenceline communities BY HALLE PARKER | STAFF WRITER APR 27, 2021 - 2:30 PM https://www.nola.com/news/environment/article_fb84bf10-a78e-11eb-af62-ff5fccccec79.html?mode=comments&sr_source=lift_amplify

But, many Louisiana residents are monitoring their own Air Quality (particulate matter) with Purple Air. https://www.purpleair.com/map?opt=1/mAQI/a10/cC0#11.44/29.9567/-90.0584

The Lower Ninth Ward CSED is using this technology to monitor Air Quality in the Ninth Ward. The Ninth ward is the closest New Orleans neighborhood to the Chalmette Refinery. http://sustainthenine.org/

There are facebook groups that watch for air pollution Uptown. Uptown is polluted by many oil terminals on the West bank of the Mississippi River JOIN for Clean Air https://www.facebook.com/groups/613535979333483 JOIN4CA (Jefferson, Orleans, Irish Channel Neighbors for Clean Air) is a group of residents from Harvey, Irish Channel, East Riverside, and surrounding areas who are concerned about the air quality in our area. If you have detected a chemical odor, please file a complaint with the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) at https://deq.louisiana.gov/page/file-a-complaint-report-an-incident or at (225) 219-3640

You can use the existing Air Quality Monitors to test a hypothesis like:

1) is air quality better farther from the Chalmette Refinery? 2) is air quality better farther away from Blackwater Oil Terminals?
