Considering the high concentration of petri-chemical plants in southern Louisiana, I'm interested in exploring air quality, particularly in New Orleans Parish where I am located.

Check out draeger tubes. They used to be relatively inexpensive (~$200 per dozen, depending on the test). That was ten years or so ago, so I don't know what they cost now. The tubes also require a calibrated pump. That can be a calibrated hand pump or motor pump, etc. The hand pump is the least expensive, but the calibration adds dramatically to the expense.

@eustatic know of any other groups in New Orleans doing this type of work that could be shared with @purl?

if you live in an Orleans Parish "Climate Priority" Neighborhood, I would like to work with you on getting you a weather station or a Particulate Matter monitor, does that sound like something you'd like to do?

@purl - are you interested in outdoor or indoor monitoring? Both?
