Thanks for sharing @lukoyedith, have you submitted this on the Outreachy website? The deadline is Monday 4pm UTC.

I love the research you have done on each section and the suggestion of leveraging already existing tools and gems.

I tried clicking a few links on the page but it seems the whole proposal is an image format?

For the listing of draft items, since that page is accessible to other users, an alternative could be listing the draft under the user's drop-down that displays their profile, logout..etc...that could be an option...

For content moderation and spam filtering, you mentioned adding a gem, Rakismet, but have not mentioned exactly what it does..

In the proposal, I haven't seen you mention other items that were mentioned under the Education-related project such as,

i) Separate author names with commas instead of “with” ii)Include high-relevance usernames you’ve used recently, or who are recently active on the site, in autocompletion results while typing into, for example, comment boxes

have a comprehensive look here https://github.com/publiclab/plots2/issues/9257

Other items to think about is creating FTOs(first timer only issues) from the project, tests, and accessibility.

All the best! And thank you!

Thanks @ruthwaiganjo, Yes i had problems with the research note, if I work on it for long hours it hangs and I couldn't publish it, @jywarren opened an issue for it here :https://github.com/publiclab/plots2/issues/9569. I had to take screenshots and upload those for me to publish. Thanks for the input and suggestions. Since the Outreachy deadline has passed, is it ok to modify this project here so as to include your suggestions?

Yes thanks @lukoyedith, you're welcome to make changes. It may be a good idea to note what you've added however so we can see. Thanks!

This is an excellent proposal! I am new to Public Lab, but this seems headed in the right direction, for sure. Count me in!

Hello @lukoyedith - thank you again for your proposal. I wanted to say that I really appreciated how you adapted and refined your proposal based on our input and to assure you that your work looks really promising, and your collaborative skills are especially appreciated. We aren't able to work with as many people as we'd like to each year and we encourage you to apply again in the next cycle. Thank you so much for your contributions!

@warren, am happy to have found public lab and I do wish to continue with the project. I will keep contributing and learning from you guys and thank you for building such a welcoming environment for new comers. Unfortunately, I had a hard time working on the project cause of hardware problems and am working on fixing that before starting with the contribution. Looking forward to working with everyone at public lab.🙂
