I replaced the old webcam that came with the plab spectrometer kit today with a newer and far superior ccd camera module and ran a series of testing and she is working great!!

@dhaffnersr - Awesome. But how did you get the wavelengths of the light?

hey TGUY, it's from the new camera that I installed in my spectrometer, these were my two test runs, one with a CFL light bulb and fluorescein using a green laser.

@dhaffnersr - Great! My question was how you were able to actually get plots of the wavelengths? What software? The reason I'm asking is because I am purchasing the exact same CCD, but my application is laser imaging (e.g. reading the spectrum/wavelengths and plotting them from the CCD camera). The laser is green. Definitely let me know. highly interested!

hey TGUY, I'm sorry I misunderstood, yeah, I use spekwin32, very nice, easy to use and very awesome. here is a link it's free (for awhile, but Dr. Friedrich Menges, who is the developer of the software will grant a free license if you ask him what your using it for.

@dhaffnersr - What is the layout of your test system? For example, is it as easy as hooking up the camera + downloading the software = waveform spectra plots? Would you mind shooting me an email and maybe exchanging info? I really want to understand this before mine arrives this week.

@TGUY, sure, spekwin32 now has a hardware control prototype program, just like plug 'n' play. my whole set can be seen on my project site here at hackaday: http://hackaday.io/project/11412-homemade-spectrometer-plab-v25-mod-301
When you download spekwin32 please read all the help files Dr. Menges put them together very straight forward and very well put together, and any help you need along the way feel free to ask me for help I really don't mind, I am a retired electrical engineer and I have the time.

@dhaffnersr - Do you have an email I can contact you at? Also, is that a green laser (or collimated green) light in the pic going into the chamber?
