# Adverse Effects On Our Everchanging Environment

by TheChessGym | 25 Aug 13:28

Today we explored the environmental changes brought on by several types of invasive species. One such example is that of the changing ecosystem in the Florida everglades brought on by the Burmese Python. The Python is not a species indigenous to the Florida everglades and has been carelessly introduced to this once stable biome. The changes that have resulted has rapidly changing biome of the Florida Everglades, albeit changes that are detrimental to this ecosystem. The Python has now flourished in this foreign environment making it the new apex predator over the Alligator. This abrupt shift in this ecosystem has now placed many different species of animals(now of the python's menu) on the "endangered species" list. Our environment is crucial to the existence of all life on the planet, hence the need for concern and immediate intervention. Thanks to organizations like Public Lab, EPA, and National Geographic for raising awareness to these issues.

Burmese pythons can survive in regions of southern United States. It thrives in warmer temperatures and has invaded Florida, replacing alligators and crocodiles. There is an increasing amount of concern for the growing population of the Burmese python because invasive species can lead to the extinction of other animals.

A carnivore is an animal that eats meat. The biosphere, geosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere.
Omnivore is an organism that eats foods like plants and animals. Ex: humans The three levels are producers, consumers, and decomposers.
Biomes are large ecological areas with similar conditions, such as vegetation, living organisms, soil, and climate. It is a danger for the Burmese python to adapt to the southern state's biomes because it is invasive species could make living hard for many organisms. They could thrive more in the southern areas because of the temperatures of the water is like what their native land is like. Has become the most destructive invasive species. There is a fear of the growth of the Burmese python because invasive species cause most of the animal population to go instinct. Out of the males and female python the largest are females. A normal python in it native habit would reproduce up to 40 eggs but since introduce into the new habit they reproduce 2 as much since they are being hunted. Since the dicovery of the python in the sourthern areas agencies have since opened that will pay to catch a python and bring it to them.

Carnivores is an animal that only eats meat. Omnivore is an animal who eats plants and meat. Biomes are places that are made up of biotic and abiotic organisms. Biosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, geosphere. 3 series of a biome is producers, consumers, and decomposers. The Burmese Python is the most destructive in the Florida Everglades. There invasive species have even been the cause of several animal extinctions. Female Burmese pythons are larger than the male ones. Current world Population- 7,969,887,501. Current amount of people without drinking water- 779,666,720.

Since these pythons have been introduce to new areas of climate that are better than their own, they are now an endanger to down here in the south b/c they have a variety of meals they can choose from which one of them are US! They are replacing alligators! Due to them being able to live on land & on water. With all, they can thrive off us & our climates. Invasive species (Burmese Pythons) have been the cause of several animal extinctions.

P.S.
Thank you to public lab for giving this opportunity to share information with others to learn new things.

The Burmese Python being an non native species to the Florida everglades has had many impacts all of which being negative. The main impact of the Burmese Python on the Florida everglades is the constant destruction of the local native ecosystem it has the potential to make the American Alligator extinct which was the apex predator before the Burmese Python was non naturally introduced to the ecosystem. This is a major issue because it has a sorta butterfly effect which could make many other negative impacts on the ecosystem this is because the introduction of the Burmese Python has disrupted the natural order of the Florida everglades. Thanks to Public Lab I have been able to learn and share the knowledge of the very important study of Environmental Science which is greatly appreciated.

The alligator was the biggest reptile native to America. Since the introduction of Burmese Pythons, their population has exploded. It has been found that they prefer swampy lowlands, making Florida have the perfect conditions. Infact, people have compared the temperature of their origin, and many of the southern states have the perfect conditions. New Delhi, India, which is the Burmese Phyton’s homeland, has an average temperature of 14.1° C. In Orlando, Florida, the average temperature is 15.9° C. It is a danger for them to spread in the south because they make a meal out of alligators. They grow many feet long, longer than humans can be tall, which is concerning because they might come for us too. Florida has beautiful features with amazing animals in its habitats, and they are under a threat now. In 2012, native racoon and bobcat populations dropped by 85-99%. If the Burmese Python keeps affecting the food chain, the balance will become corrupt and affect us too.

Burmese python invasion include southern states like Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, and even Louisiana. There is a potential for their populations to explode in the south U.S. because we have a similar climate to their home region of south Asia.

A carnivore is a meat eater.

Atmosphere, hydrosphere, geosphere, biosphere make up our planet earth.

An omnivore is something that eats both meat and plants.

Decomposers, predators, prey, and producers.

A biome is a living space that a community of unusual species resides in.

The Burmese python can thrive in our southern states; becoming an invasive species.

When there is an introduction to an invasive species, native species become extinct. The alligators used to be on top of the food chain, but the Burmese Pythons changed that. They keep consuming too many resources that should be used for native species. There are 7,969,883,595 people in the world right now. There are 779,667,833 people without safe drinking water. Thank you Public Labs for allowing us to contribute and read information on this site.

The Burmese Python is a dangerous species who has spread across the Florida Everglades. This species is 23 feet long and can consume something as big as an alligator. The impact these pythons have on the ecosystem is crazy because they have now become the apex predator due to their size and what they consume. The average female Burmese python lays about 122 eggs, and is the bigger species compared to the males. These pythons are being hunted down so they can become extinct and experimented on because of how dangerous they are to the ecosystems. Thanks to public labs for letting spread info.

There is a danger for the Burmese python in the south because it has a negative effect on Florida's ecosystem. They pose a threat due to their need for native wildlife for food, messing up the food chain in which the predators are not hunting their prey.

The danger of the python can kill us humans, python is the cause of others upsetting the encasement. So how much do python hunters make? Hunters are paid $8.25 an hour to prowl the wetlands in the SFWMD's jurisdiction, earning on-the-spot bonuses that rise with the size of any snakes they fell. Pythons up to 4 feet long get you$50, with and additional \$25 for every foot over 4 feet. thank you puilbic lab for helping everyone share info tat needs to be shared -kaitlynn

There is such concern for the invasion of the Burmese python in the Florida Everglades because, when there is the introduction of an invasive species, it puts populations of native species at risk of becoming extinct. Also, other regions with the potential of having a Burmese python invasion include southern states like Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, and even us in Louisiana. There is a potential for their populations to explode in the south U.S. because we have a similar climate to their home region of south Asia. This is very bad because they can destroy ecosystems all across the South if they spread, as well as putting us in danger.

A carnivore is a species that only eats meat. The 4 spheres are: Biosphere, Hydrosphere, Atmosphere &Geosphere. Omnivore is an animal or person that eats both meat and plants. An example of an omnivore is a bear. The different type of biomes is producers, consumers, and decomposers. Biome is determined by the species that live in that specific area. Burmese pythons are very invasive not only to Florida but also USA. Invasive species have ever been the cause of several animal extinctions! Burmese pythons has a strong preference for swampy lowlands where it uses the water's edge to ambush prey. Florida and India have similar latitude and their average winter temperatures. The Burmese python completed change the biome in astronomical ways due to the fact it's not supposed to be here. It has now become the number one predator in the state of Florida. Today's population is 7,969,883,720.

The impact of the burmese python is an invasive species. They like to settle in the southern parts. The burmese python is an apex predator with low decreasing species rate, allowing them to thrive. As the burmese python is a apex predator, other species are fighting for food leaving those species to decline in numbers with the burmese snake at the top. They also reproduce alot creating more of the dangerous species. Thanks to Public Lab for being a great website and to being an accommodating support of this class' environmental studies in the future.

The Burmese python is a type of snake that originates from the forest of New Delhi, India. The snake loves warm temperatures, forest, and especially swampy biomes. These snakes have been known to grow up to 23 feet and lay clusters of 12-48 eggs. They are apex predators at the top of their food chain not only in India but in Florida as well, the only difference is, the python’s home is in India, while in Florida they’re an invasive species. The Burmese pythons have taken over the Florida Everglades and have become the top predator there as well-overtaking the alligators. This is disastrous because they are destroying the habitat and decreasing the population and diversity of the animals that live in the everglades. This is because Florida- on of the southern states as similar conditions like India.

A carnivore is an animal that feeds. The four spheres are Hydrosphere Atmosphere Geosphere Biosphere

An omnivore is an animal or human that eats both plants and organs. Burmese pythons can survive in regions of southern United States. It thrives in warmer temperatures and has invaded Florida, replacing alligators and crocodiles Three biotic series: consumers
producers Decomposers
Biome- a large community that is occupying ng a major habitat The regions that are in the south gives good pythons a good chance to thrive.
It is extremely dangerous because the python in the south is likely to kill our resources or be ready to hurt or harm us.

The burmese python is a indigenous species to the U.S and resides in humid states like Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana. Their population has a chance to skyrocket due to the climate in the area we live in being similar to that of South Asia. Thanks to public lab we're able to learn about these things that could give us awareness about important things in our world.

There is such concern for the Burmese python introduction into the Florida Everglades because invasive species have been the cause of several animal extinctions. The python is now the apex predator of the Everglades. Invasive species have been a nuisance to the biodiversity of their non-native ecosystems. Other regions that have the potential of having the Burmese python explode in the population disrupting the ecosystem is Louisiana, Texas, and Southern California, etc. Mostly the southern United States. These regions are suitable for the python to thrive because of similar climates. Thanks to organizations like Public Lab, everyday citizens can become educated on environmental dangers such as the Burmese python. Gianna Williams

The south is like the natural habits as the native places that is why the Burmese python is population is exploding. It is a danger for the python population to explode here is because the snakes are taking over and taking over the alligator and crocodile population. The pythons have cased extinction in native species. There have been organizations that have came together to help with capturing the snakes so that they would could minimise the population. Thanks to public lab for everything I have learned form reading the other post from all over.

A carnivore is an organism that feeds on off the flesh of another organism. The four spheres that make up planet Earth are the geosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere.

Omnivore- an organism that eats plants and other living animals, ex. Baboon. Three biotic series of living organisms in a biome: producers, consumers, and decomposers. Biome - an area classified according to the species that live in that location. Districts with the potential of having a Burmese python attack incorporate southern states like Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, and indeed Louisiana. There's a potential for their populations to blow up within the south U.S. since we have a comparable climate to their domestic locale of south Asia. There are 7,969,883,712 people on earth today and 779,667,820 people with no access to a safe water source. Thanks to Public Labs
