Vers?o em portugu?s: O UNICEF em parceria com o Public Laboratory for Open Technology and Science (PLOTS) realizou um workshop pioneiro na ?rea de tecnologia de mapeamento comunit?rio com foco na preven??o de desastres, no Rio de Janeiro, entre os dias 22 a 26 de agosto. A comunidade piloto escolhida para a a??o foi o Morro dos Prazeres, em Santa Teresa. O workshop ?Forma??o de Treinadores - Mapeamento Digital de Riscos Ambientais Guiado pela Juventude? capacitou lideran?as comunit?rias e jovens do Morro dos Prazeres, Morro do Urubu, Morro dos Macacos, Morro do Borel e Rocinha, comunidades escolhidas por participarem da Plataforma dos Centros Urbanos e por apresentarem incid?ncias de riscos ambientais. Representantes do poder p?blico que t?m inger?ncia na ?rea de emerg?ncia e preven??o de desastres tamb?m participaram da capacita??o. GeoRio, Rio ?guas, Sec. Estadual de Defesa Civil,Sec. Municipal de Sa?de e Defesa Civil, Instituto Municipal de Urbanismo Pereira Passos, Cruz Vermelha, Funda??o Abrinq/Save the Children participaram de todo o processo. A atividade promoveu o di?logo entre as institui??es p?blicas e as comunidades, facilitando que o poss?vel processo de implanta??o do projeto seja constru?do coletivamente. A tecnologia foi desenvolvida por cientistas do Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) e tem sido replicada pelo PLOTS em diversos lugares do mundo. Este tipo de mapeamento ? participativo e oportuniza as pr?prias lideran?as, jovens e popula??o em geral a destacar os riscos ambientais. The pilot community chosen for the workshop was the Morro dos Prazeres, in the Santa Teresa neighborhood. The ?Training of Trainers ? Youth-led Digital Mapping of Environmental Risks? workshop trained community leaders and teenagers from the Morro dos Prazeres, Morro do Urubu, Morro dos Macacos, Morro do Borel and the Rocinha, communities chosen due to their participation in the Platform for Urban Centers and to their incidences of environmental risks. Representatives of the local political authority that are involved in the area of emergency management and disaster prevention also participated in the training: GeoRio, Rio ?guas, the Municipal Secretariat of Health and Civil Defense, State Secretariat of Civil Defense, Instituto Municipal de Urbanismo Pereira Passos, Red Cross, and Funda??oAbrinq/Save the Children. The activity promoted dialogue between public institutions and the communities, so that the potential application of the technology could be constructed collectively. This type of mapping gives leaders, young people and the general population the opportunity to highlight environmental risks they consider to be most serious.
