(For those of you who don't know, we are a community of activist cartographers who use DIY tools for civic science -- we take aerial photos using kites and balloons of things like the BP oil spill.) This issue is an in depth look at community organizing. The Grassroots Mapping Forum is printed on a two 22.75x35" sheets of acid-free paper folded down to just over letter size, and includes a full color reproduction of a grassroots map along with essays, illustrated guides, and interviews on the reverse. If you're interested in supporting our work, consider buying 3 or 4 and giving them to your friends. ##Issue #3 (spring 2013) * A full color, wall-ready map of UC Davis during the Occupy protests with notes from the cartographer and mappers * An interview with citizen scientist organizer Cindy Regalado * Details on Public Lab organizational structure * Writing from organizers in Jerusalem * Barnstars! ###Issue #2 (summer 2012) * A full color wall-ready map the Chandeleur Islands with notes from the ground and bios of the mappers. * A dialogue on UAS (Unpiloted Aerial Systems) ethics between privacy lawyers, drone developers, and balloon-loving grassroots mappers. * An intro to DIY multispectral imaging and interpretation * An interview with a wetlands scientist in the Gulf of Mexico * Quick, fun activities you can do to help Grassroots Mapping! ###Issue #1 (summer 2011) * A full color wall-ready map of an island in Barataria Bay showing oil spilled from the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill * An interview with Gulf Coast resident Barbara Marcotte * Details on how to get started ###Planning Grassroots Mapping Forum### Learn about and get involved in writing, editing, publishing, promoting, and distributing the forum on [the forum planning page](/wiki/forum-planning). ###Using Content from Grassroots Mapping Forum### The Forum is a [Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike](http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/) licensed document.
