Side effects are very individual. Some experience accelerated hair loss or minor acne or possibly slightly elevated blood pressure. But in most cases, on therapeutic doses, side effects are really minor and the benefits far outweigh the cons. I'm lucky because on 140mg/week I feel great and don't have any sides. 3 svensterx • 2 yr. ago->

Has anyone had any negative side effects from TRT? : r/Testosterone r/Testosterone • 3 yr. ago [deleted] Has anyone had any negative side effects from TRT? I've been on TRT, for a year and have had my testosterone levels go up from 130 to 1000. I haven't really all felt a difference in anything, besides some body hair gain.
Less energy. When you start TRT, the higher testosterone levels will likely increase energy. As you are coming off the medications, this will work in reverse. You will usually begin to feel more sluggish as fatigue sets in. You might also experience "brain fog," making it harder to focus on anything. Mood changes.
Pros: Quality of life has improved dramatically. My libido is great and, in general, I'm more mellow than I was before. I'm not sure if that's an actual effect of the TRT. Cons: Needles and cost. Granted it doesn't cost all that much and it doesn't hurt that much, but it's still extra effort. So it's not much of a con, all things being equal.
Ideally, split your normal weekly dosage into two equal doses. In other words, if you normally inject 100 to 200 mg. of testosterone every week, inject 25 mg. or 50 mg. of your 200 mg/ml testosterone cypionate or testosterone enanthate prescription (the most common formulation in the U. S. ) twice a week, e. g, Tuesday and Friday.
I've been experiencing fatigue, anxiety, panic attacks, sleep disturbances, lack of energy, low libido for several years. SSRI treatment (coupled with benzos) didn't help and made things worse, so I decided to check my T level.
The most common TRT side effect is an increased red blood cell count (more on that below), but other side effects of testosterone replacement therapy include: Acne or oily skin Worsening sleep apnea Breast swelling or tenderness Infertility, due to a decreased sperm count Shrinkage of the testicles Prostate disorders
Yes. TRT has side effects, which may include: Acne and oily skin Lower sperm count, which can cause infertility Increased risk of blood clots Shrinkage of the testicles Larger breasts.

While a lot of things can cause elevated levels of those two blood values, I've got one giant, red-light-flashing risk factor working against me: Testosterone replacement therapy or TRT. As terrific as it is, TRT carries with it a few possible negative side effects, and elevated hematocrit is perhaps the most serious of them.
Short term side effects of testosterone replacement therapy may include: Acne or oily skin. Swelling or tenderness of breasts. Swelling of the ankles (fluid retention) A decrease in the stream or frequency of urination. High blood cell counts (which could increase the risk of blood clots)
Looking for advice / guidance after having severe side effects 9 months into treatment, followed by abrupt discontinuation and severe withdrawal. Almost 5 months later, still not back to pre-TRT self. Some background: 37 yo M Was on 180 mg testosterone cypionate weekly, split into injections MWF. Was on 1/2 tablet anastrazole per week.

Levels prior was 150-250. Levels currently right around 600. Weight loss was definitely helped. Prior to TRT I was 280-330lbs and would work out and diet. The lowest I could get was 270lbs. Then after the TRT and same workout and diet I'm around 215lbs plus or minus 10.
8 The_BroScientist • 2 yr. ago Idk why people are so polar about it. An AI can be used successfully with TRT in order to maintain higher levels of testosterone with less side effects. You can also lower your dose and increase your injection frequency, removing the need for an AI altogether.
